BBC Gone Fishing Feature – Sculpted Cake
Commissioned by Owlpower TV for the BBC series Gone Fishing, this sculpted cake was created as part of a scripted scene for a special episode featuring Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse, designed as a light-hearted on-screen moment during filming.
Featured in D’licious Magazine – Industry Press Feature
My work has been featured numerous times in the leading cake industry publication: D’licious Magazine. One of my creations, a lifelike illusion salmon cake designed for a local fisherman in Looe, caught the attention of the editor, Kelly.
She invited me to contribute a professional tutorial for the magazine’s international readership of cake artists and hobby bakers. I created a detailed themed tutorial based on “Magic”, producing the Spellbound & Co. illusion cake design which was featured inside the magazine, but also graced the cover of the March 2026 issue.
Eden Project commission, Cornwall
The Eden Project commission originated when I was approached by Josje Praamstra, Senior PR Manager at the Eden Project, to create a bespoke cake for their 25th anniversary celebrations. The brief formed part of a wider “Big Lunch” and “Big Help Out” media moment, focusing on themes of community, food sharing, and volunteering.
Working from an original concept, I developed an evolved design that became a detailed street-party scene, incorporating houses, shared spaces, and narrative elements reflecting community connection, food donation, and volunteering initiatives. The design was refined in collaboration with the Eden team as the guest numbers increased and the final celebratory direction of the event evolved.
The finished cake was delivered to the Eden Project on 23 March ahead of the anniversary celebrations and installed on site for their flagship event.
It was only upon delivery that I learned the cake would be cut by The King and Queen during the celebrations, an unexpected and memorable moment to witness.
